About the Charity
Keshav Srushti was established in 1984, at Uttan Village, Bhayander West, Maharashtra. They work on 9 aspects for development of the villages: Water Resource Management, Education & Value Based Education, Agriculture & Environment, Skill Development & Business Employment, Women Empowerment, Health & Hygiene, Alternate Energy, Leadership Development and Government Scheme Implementation/Follow-up. The Gram Vikas Yojana initiative was started on 1 May 2017 at Wada Taluka of Palghar District. This project of Keshav Srushti is mainly working for the rural development of Wada, Vikramgad, Jawhar, and Mokhada blocks of Palghar district.
The Bamboo Craft Centre Keshav Srushti Gram Vikas Yojana (KSGVY) started the project of Bamboo Craft in Tetwali village with the objective of women empowerment. 26 ladies from Tetwali village were trained in bamboo craft for one month. During the training period these ladies started manufacturing various types of products from bamboo like paper weights, kandil, pen + mobile + visiting card stand, hot pot stands and serving trays. This training not only developed the manual skill of bamboo craft manufacturing in these females but also developed their self esteem and self confidence. Seeing the success of the Tetwali centre, KSGVY plans to open 8 more centres in the Vikramgad area. YVO’s contribution to Keshav Srushti: The training and setup cost of 1 bamboo craft centre is Rs.1,10,000. YVO intends to channelize the donation received for September 2019 towards the training and setup costs of 8 bamboo craft centres.
