About the Charity
In June & December 2018, YVO had channelized its donation to Parivaar towards the annual expenses of the Dundlawa Seva Kutir. Some key impacts of our previous contribution Children across all age groups have shown a 50%+ improvement in learning English & Hindi and as high as 75% in Mathematics. There is a 20% decline in the number of malnourished children Several students have got admission in government secondary schools at Class 9 level. Our annual audit process showed us the positive impact that our previous contribution made on education and health of these children. Based on that data, we planned to re-donate the funds received in August 2019, towards the annual expense of Dundlawa Seva Kutir.
Parivaar, an organisation was started in 2003, with the motto that changing the destinies of children will change the destiny of India. Ever since, it has been working towards total care and overall development of children who are highly vulnerable to exploitation, victimization and trafficking, including orphans, street children, abandoned children, and extremely impoverished children from tribal areas. With over 2100 children, Parivaar is one of the largest free residential homes in West Bengal. As of August 2019, there are more than 10,000 children in 119 Seva Kutirs in MP. The Seva Kutir project aims to address the problems of malnutrition and the poor educational status of children from tribal villages in Madhya Pradesh. Day Boarding (Education cum Meal Programs) is provided to children in the age group of 4 to 14. During the day the children go to the local government school so that a continued engagement is established with them. The Seva Kutirs are aimed at complementing the government schooling and are not intended to act as a substitute.
