About the Charity
TOUCH (Turning Opportunities for Upliftment and Child Help) is a not-for-profit voluntary organization, founded in 1994, by a group of socially conscious and personally committed professionals and social activists to help the underprivileged children to realize their potential by supporting their education with particular emphasis on their overall development. The main aim of TOUCH is to build a network for the social and vocational rehabilitation of destitute children. Initiatives of TOUCH include helping the underprivileged children by arranging education sponsorships with a three guardian approach, organizing vocational training workshops, interactive camps, having community development programs and medical camps, encouraging child to child interactions from privileged and under privileged classes and running a school on wheels.
TOUCH also runs Book Banks at Vihigaon (Kasara), Gondiya (Nagpur), a slum in Borivali (Mumbai) and Chiplun, Sindhudurg housing text books for all professional and degree courses where needy students can borrow expensive books for an academic year so that their financial burden is lessened. YVO channelized the donation received for the month of September 2017 towards helping TOUCH upgrade their Book Bank at Vihigaon, Gondiya and Borivali by equipping them with text books for 9th Standard, 10th Standard, Junior College (Commerce, Science and Arts) and Senior College (Commerce and Science) as per this years syllabus. The training equipment for beauty parlour course and sewing machines setup with your donation will help impact the lives of about 160 women and their families every year by empowering them with a means of living.
